In laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon places a camera and light through a small incision to help them see. The surgeon then uses surgical instruments to operate through the other incisions.
During robotically-assisted surgery, the surgeon operates from a console in the same room as the patient. The surgeon controls the arms of a robot to perform surgery through small incisions or cuts.
